[Really, it wasn't. Except when trying to hang out with Michael, he comes here pretty frequently... And honestly, this lake is really becoming the center of these islands, for Papyrus. Underwater adventures, cooking adventures, emotional whiplash conversations over photos and canceled deaths and puns...
Really, if he has that kind of layered memory associated with any places back home, wherever it is, he is probably going to cry the first time he revisits them.]
But. I didn't catch what, exactly, we're meeting about... Are we eating to celebrate all our successful detective-ing?

Maybe a little. We did figure some things out, though, even if we had a lot of help. [From the Universe, which he's still sort of dancing around thinking about.] But that's not exactly what I wanted to talk to you about.
[He's quiet for a moment before continuing.]
I remembered something about dragons. You know, I'm remembering a lot of things, but this one's pretty interesting, sir. They can give away a little of their power to somebody they think is worthy of it. Did you know that?

Giving away a little of their power...? Hmm.
[Papyrus stares vaguely off, weighing the idea against the feelings it raises. The idea of giving away power, that makes sense - he has some magic thanks to some super powerful skeleton gifting it, apparently. But dragons?]
...No, I didn't know that! I guess dragons work differently, where I come from...
no subject
That's what I remember. They give a little bit of themselves, like blood, and the person they decide to give their power to can do cool dragon things and dragon magic and . . .
[He trails off.]
I know you already have magic. You might not want any more. But if you did, you could have some of mine.

Cool dragon magic? That sounds--
[Key words catch up to his thoughts and he cuts himself off, surprise and alarm winning out, and his jaw drops.]
Your blood?? But, don't you need that to live???
[Angus, don't offer to die for Papyrus. He would never want that!!]

[Wow, what an uncharacteristically vague statement for Angus McDonald. Still, he's clearly flummoxed for a moment until he realizes that they are operating on entirely different levels of corporeality.]
Oh. Oh, no, sorry — not all my blood. It'd just be a little bit. See?
[He pulls his hand out from behind his back, finally, to reveal a small vial of blood. It looks like regular boy blood. No little dragon scales floating in it or anything.]
no subject
[That vial's about as small as the ones the vending machine used to fling at him. Much smaller than Angus's hand, even.
Truth be told, he has very little idea what regular little boy blood looks like. That vial doesn't have scales floating in it, or anything else that implies it's special dragon blood with magic powers... Is it even glowing..?]
And you're sure... that's okay? It didn't hurt to lose that??
[He feels like he ought to be able to just tell if Angus is injured, at a glance. Maybe it's something to do with his necromantic touch power.]
