BUREAU OF BALANCE
★ ANGUS MCDONALD (HE/HIM): A young detective who joined the Reclaimers after Wonderland. He's a highly skilled and quick-witted young boy, but lately seems enraptured by the ruins on this island. As usual he tries to keep the Reclaimers on track toward reclaiming the relic, but he hasn’t seemed to pinpoint its location just yet himself. Oddly enough, he can't remember how he or the Reclaimers got here, either.

ISLANDERS
K.V. (THEY/THEM): Chemist/Wizard/Technomancer. A technomancer on the island who is renowned and respected despite their unusual affinity for toys and toymaking. They're very good at understanding and repairing the magitech beasts that the islanders train at the Coliseum, but their true passion is making toys, especially automatons that serve little function beyond movement and sound. They appear to be an Australian Magpie and wear brightly colored fabrics.

NIELY (THEY/THEM): Bard. A new friend of Angus's, a bard hoping to one day be a technomancer themself. They're very good at rapping and want to learn to use magitech to create instruments, but often have trouble getting K.V.'s attention away from toys and beasts-- and lately, they can be found more often hanging around Angus at the ruins than anywhere else. They are a little common Sato dog that wears a very treasured hat.

ELDER MARINERO (HE/HIM): A positively ancient historian, a bat, who, like most elderly, is wise but stubborn! Despite his advanced age, his brain is very sharp and he seems to know anything and everything that's to know about this island. However….. Good luck speaking with him if you can't speak Animalian! He refuses to speak Common in what he justifies as a preservation of his culture and language. If you do manage to get him to open up, he's quite warm, but his late-night schedule and stoic nature often scare younger islanders and tourists off. He can often be found at the cliffs on the south island at night next to the grave of his past husband Marcos, tending to the flora in the area.

◈ LOLA (SHE/HER): Bard/Merchant/Astrologian. Essentially the governor of the island in everything but title. This strawberry-brown Holstein seems reserved at first but listens with the ear of Solomon and guides with an unusual grace; the islanders consult her for nearly everything. Lola is even the Presenter for the seasonal Dance Competition. As kind and graceful as she is, she's quite a busy woman -- if you're not entering the competition yourself, she may not be able devote a lot of time for you.

◈ SERGIO (HE/HIM): Bard. MC of the Dance Competition and Lola’s right hand man. A constantly well-dressed hare who seems to have a bit of a nervousness problem that disappears when he’s behind a magitech voice-amplification-device or VAD.

◈ KALENA, LINDA, FIARA, & CUCA (ANY PRONOUNS): Dancers. A quartet of drag queen dance teachers that run the actual competition portion of the seasonal dance show. Though they are usually quite fun-loving, they all seem to be quite a bit troubled, as it would seem the villagers are a little on edge lately. They can probably be convinced to train Dancers or even teach newbies how to dance — in exchange for some favors, of course. They are a toucan, bird of paradise, flamingo, and seagull respectively, and call themselves The Dance Sisters.

◈ PROFESSOR JERRY: Chemist/Cleric/Sage. A kindly ape archaeologist and teacher at the Roswell Center who is currently studying the Strange Ruins, along with his apprentice Niely, and now with Angus. He hasn't made much progress on understanding the ruins, which seems to be really puzzling him, as he knows almost all of the history on the Gilded Wall and the rest of the island, even down to its villagers. He can be a bit of a gossip… but he'll also give you great tips on which classes to take at Roswell Center and how to impress their respective teachers, if you want to sit in.

◈ KIPPER (HE/HIM): Chemist. Prof. Jerry’s assistant and friend of Niely’s. A little toucan who is also Kalena’s son. He is very booksmart and proper, which helps Prof. Jerry’s wandering mind to stay on task. He’s often caught redirecting Prof. Jerry whenever the ol’ ape gets on a tangent

◈ CAPTAIN BAXLEY & CREW: Assorted Paths: An old St. Bernard & his assortment of sealmen, sailing deer, fishing cats, & seadogs. They are the leading fishing team on the island & are very puzzled as to why they can't seem to sail away to the further out fishing spots as of late. You can ask all day, but not a single sailor seems to understand what's up with that barrier out there-- but they're worried it'll cause fish and import shortages! While you're asking, though, they're happy to put you to work doing errands for them or anyone else. You know what they say about idle hands...

◈ MIAOTEO (HE/HIM): Fighter/Barbarian. A tiger blacksmith and former fisherman living on one of the south island’s toes. He is quite a skilled craftsman, but will only take payment in fish, and makes art and craft items out of processed fish products, too. If you’re looking to make a boat to sail around the crystal lagoon or simply for parts to trade, he’s your guy.

◈ LUNA (SHE/HER): Chemist. Known around the docks as “the Boat Wizard.” She’s already fixed most of the pirates’ ships, but they still can’t sail away. She’s a quiet maned wolf and lets her wife, Gabriela, handle most of the business dealings for her. She’ll gladly assist in making new boats, especially small ones to sail around the lagoon, but will often remind people that not even a techno-enhanced ship can make it out of the island.

◈ GABRIELA (SHE/HER): Chemist. Matron and cook of the Little Dipper Tavern just outside of Luna’s boat garage. At some point recently, the pirates took Gabriela, her wife Luna, and their daughter Stella hostage to force Luna to repair their ships; when not even repaired ships made it off the island, Gabriela and Stella convinced a very small faction of the pirates to back them up in forcing the other pirates to find a different way home. A loud and boisterous rabbit, Gabriela is also Sergio’s sister.

◈ STELLA (SHE/HER): Luna and Gabriela’s 11yo rabbit daughter who’s just as strong-willed as Gabriela. She has convinced herself she is now the pirate captain of the defected pirates, who refuse to tell her otherwise.

◈ RONALDO: A "conspiracy theorist" diving duck who swears up and down there are strange, mind-reading jellyfish in the cave under Miso Fou’s bar. He used to dive more but injured a wing recently and is taking some responsible healing time to instead sit around the swim-up bar and attempt to convince everyone those crazy jellyfish are real.

◈ THE VERA: Clerics. A line of Blue cats who run the hospitality & health industry on the island. They all seem to look similar, making it look like there’s more of them than there are. The Vera also seem to handle any domestic claims for people trying to find residence on the island, and are regularly hired at the civil offices in the island’s center. Many of the Roswell Center clerics are also Veras.

OTHERS
★ MISO FOU (SQUID): Squid. A massive, curious chef that mans the little cafe in the center of the island.

★ THE UMBRELLA (???): Umbrella. A mysterious, well-cared-for red umbrella. Currently in the possession of Lion Ushiromiya, who found it on the (formerly) floating island of Maru. It has exhibited the ability to perform very powerful magic, usually to aid or protect Lion. It's very reluctant to let other people handle it, typically yeeting them away...forcefully. Those with experience with magical items have remarked that its energy reeks of darkness and death. According to Lucretia, it belonged to an old friend of hers.

★ JOHN (HE/HIM): The Hunger. Or its spokesperson, at least, but in a gigantic collective being, it's kind of the same thing? He used to be human, and amassed the collective that became the Hunger through his skillful public speaking. They were dissatisfied with the constraints of existence, and so found a way to escape those constraints and exist as one in the Hunger. The Hunger has been adding the worlds of the Reclaimers to this collective as it chases Lucretia and her colleagues across universes. John himself is a bit puzzled as to how the actions of the Hunger are an issue to anyone. He has a connection with Maya Fey as a result of a strange encounter during the Wonderland mission.
