It's absolutely fine to change your choice for Academic. (This also applies to other path actions that involve use of other spells, for the record!) If you have ideas for the spell boost other than the standard of double range and power, please contact us for approval, but otherwise you're free to make changes to Academic as played in Balance on your own.
